Work Methods & Standards: Time Study Fundamentals

A four-day seminar/workshop to develop the knowledge, art, and science of work methods improvement and measurement. This course covers the theory, concepts, and practice of the basics in work methods improvement and time study. The latest equipment and approaches to work measurement are covered including electronic and computer methods for work time measurement and work sampling. Twenty-four (24) hours of practical, concentrated instruction. Certificates given to successful participants. Tuition per participant: (In-plant offerings) $995* (12 student minimum).

Work Methods Analysis, Design, and Improvement: Techniques for Cost Reduction

A three-day seminar/workshop to develop the participant's abilities to improve work methods and generate significant cost reductions. Contents of the course include the work simplification five step pattern, flow charting techniques, workstation analysis techniques, man/machine analysis, the principles of motion economy and avoiding ineffective work patterns, practical workstation ergonomics, small area layout and arrangement techniques, and creative problem-solving skills. Eighteen (18) hours of practical and applied instruction. Certificates granted. Tuition per participant: (In-plant offerings) $795* (12 student minimum).

Advanced Work Measurement: Standard Data and Work Sampling

A three-day program for the advanced work methods and measurement engineer. Regression-based time formula development for standard data development and indirect labor analysis using advanced/computer work activity sampling techniques. The tuition includes computer software for multiple regression development of time formulas and computer software for work sampling study design. Time formulas for families of work are developed on the PC. Approaches to develop accurate cost quoting systems are covered. Each two or three participants must have a notebook PC available to them for this seminar/workshop (call us for details). Techniques for work sampling study design, conduct, data analysis, and reporting are covered in detail. A detailed work sampling study is designed and partially conducted as an integral part of the course. Eighteen (18) contact hours. Certificates granted. Tuition per participant: (In-plant offerings) $995* (8 student minimum).
